Weekly Blog #3

  • what you have accomplished
  • what you wished you had been able to do
  • whether there were complications you didn't anticipate
  • what you want to do more of in the coming weeks

This week we accomplished finalizing the 5K event and putting on the event! It was great and everyone had a good job. The T-shirt distribution went smoothly and over all there were not problems with the race it was a huge success!!!! There is nothing I wish I wouldve been able to do i think it all went smoothly and I had stuff I enjoyed doing each day! I can't say there were any complications maybe just that I wanted to volunteer with the 5K as well as run it which couldn't have been done! I have no more weeks so nothing! This was fun!

Day 15

Its my last day of senior project! Instead of doing a regular morning workout I decided that today my workout would be to bike to school with Stef! The bike from Stef's house to school is about 7 and a half miles. My bike had two flat tires so it took us quite a while to get to school. At halfway we switched bikes and then ended up pushing them until we got to school. It took us a solid two hours and even though we pushed our bikes most of the way it was still a good workout and a great way to start off our day.
We got to school just in time for lunch. We sat and ate then went our separate ways. I went to the trainers at 1 and stayed until 3 with Hazel and Beau working on our final poster board to present in the wise on Wednesday! We spent a while cutting, pasting and deciding what we are going to do and say during our presentation. We decided on doing some live wrapping and taping so be sure to come check it out!!!!

Day 14

Today I woke  up at 10 to go do my second to last workout of my senior project. I've enjoyed being able to incorporate working out into my senior project because I can always learn more about it and it always puts me into a great mood, it's just an awesome way to start my day. Hazel and I went to the trainer right after lunch and began helping make the final bags for the 5K for race day. We have to separate and fold the T-shirts then cut the names out and put them in order than put and pamphlet, race shirt and running bib into each bag with he correct size of the runner. It feels good that our last goal of our senior project is now underway of being completed and will be a go on saturday! I can't wait to see how the race turns out and to run in it as well!!!

Day 13

Today was supposed to be game day but we did not have a game but did have a team hike at 12 so I could not stay in the trainers long. I got to school and realized that Kelly had to go to a CPR teaching so now senior project today so instead Beau and I helped Trish and Jill pick stuff up and clear out the gym for senior dinner. YAY

Day 12

Today I came to campus at 10 and went for a run, did my warm up and then went into the training room and did my mixed volt workout. I finished in time to make it to Kelly's gender studies class at 11:55. During gender studies we watched a movie about how girls and boys are supposed to be portrayed when they are growing up or else they will be made fun of. The movie lasted about an hour till we then headed to lunch. We sat in the training room before heading to the dinning hall where I worked on blogs and my paper then we went to lunch with a mission of signing more people up for the 5K then returned and learned how to use splints and then filled up the waters for practices.

Day 11

Today I woke up for a run and got to campus around 11 just in time for a department meeting. In the meeting we listened to everyone talk about what their plans were for the end of the school year leading into the next year. We learned how much planning goes into preparation for the upcoming fall, for example that concussion testing happens in the spring and fitting for football also happens in the spring to get ready for the fall term. After department meetings we gathered in the training room and got papers ready to bring to lunch to get more people to sign up for the 5K. At the end of lunch we managed to get around 15 people signed up, things are looking great for the 5K this Saturday! After lunch we went back to the training room and I helped kelly organize the 5K papers by alphabetical order, fill up water jugs and dry out ice coolers. When this was done I spent time putting together my hours and found out that I am already pretty much done with my hours! Yay!!!

  • what you have accomplished

  • what you want to do more of in the coming weeks

This week I accomplished getting in a solid workout each day that I put together to keep myself in shape in the off season but including weights and running. I also was able to get down a good stretching/warm up routine before lifting and running. I wish that I was able to spend more time doing the workouts I put together instead of spending more time putting them together. The only complications I came about were that I knew I had to leave for hockey and would be gone for two crucial days to get in hours, but I think I will be able to make those hours up and I will be fine in the next week. In the coming week I wish to just workout more as well as get to working on any last things I would like to know about athletic training so I can incorporate those into my paper and my poster board to present to the faculty.
