During this week I have accomplished an idea about what and athletic trainers day looks like as well as had the chance to learn basic wrapping skills, CPR and first aid. I would say that I feel comfortable being put in a situation where I need to perform basic first aid and/or wrapping of someones wrist or ankle for practices/games.
I wish that I had been able to actually help someone who needed athletic assistance more than just putting a bandaid on them.
There were no complications everything ran pretty smoothly and I was able to fit in a ton of hours without messing up me schedule at all. Within the coming weeks I wish to work with the athletic trainers to convert my workout plan into a structured and beneficial plan that I can follow over the summer in the off season to help prevent injuries when I jump into my season in the late fall.
It is nice to see you learning so much, and thinking more carefully about your own health and wellness as an athlete!
